These instruments feature premium performance, making them ideal for component and device testing. The OZ Optics multichannel electrically controlled variable attenuator is a compact, rugged device, with low cost and high resolution, high attenuation range, and high power-handling capability (when using a blocking technique), housed in a 19" (48.3 cm) 3U rack frame.

The Multichannel Electrically Controlled Variable Attenuator features a capacity to control optical power for up to 32 independent channels. The unit is available not only for telecommunication wavelengths, but also for wavelengths from 350nm to 2050nm, and works with singlemode, polarization maintaining or multimode fibers. A computer interface enables users to access or remotely control the unit through a PC. Reliable and repeatable test results are ensured through the use of the built-in power meter and power stabilization function that set and maintain output power stability, even when there are input power fluctuations. This makes it ideal for bit error rate testing, trouble shooting receivers and other active fiber optic components, simulating long distance fiber transmission, design of fiber optic transmitter/receiver circuitry, power meter linearity checks, and power setting. With up to a 60dB dynamic range (for SM and PM fiber applications) and a broad list of features, the Multichannel Attenuator is a vital tool for optical systems.
