For Immediate Release Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers DRAFT RELEASE - Version 1.0 Ottawa, Canada - March 4, 2005 OZ Optics has added Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA) to its product line. These amplifiers feature low noise levels and output powers in excess of 500mW for superior performance. They are ideal for CATV network systems, where signal distortion must be minimized. They can be used in both single channel and WDM networks. The new EDFAs are available for both the C and L band wavelength ranges, and are offered in a variety of configurations and with various options, including boosters, pre-amplifiers, mid-stage access, and gain-flatteners.
