Reflective Style Variable Fiber Optic Delay Line

OZ Optics Limited, a world leading supplier of fiber optic products for existing and next-generation optical networks, introduces the reflective style variable fiber optic delay line as a critical new addition to the delay line family of products.

The new system produces over 150 picoseconds of relative delay with 0.003 picosecond resolution, all in a small package ideally suited to network systems. Applications include Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) compensation or simulation for high speed optical networks and fiber optic interferometry.

OZ Optics’ delay lines feature less than 1dB insertion losses and 0.25dB loss variation over the entire travel range, with typical losses of 0.6dB. The unit features remote control via an RS232, SPI, or I 2 C interface. The unit can be powered off without changing the delay induced. A manually adjustable version is also available.
